Rakotzbrucke, also known as the Devil's Bridge, is named so because it is incredibly stunning and its construction is deemed to be so difficult that only demons could have built it.

 It is an unmissable attraction and a perfect stop on a day trip from Berlin. The reflection of the bridge in the water below creates an almost perfect circle, making it look like a gateway into a fairytale or a pathway through time. You wouldn't want to miss the magical scenery of this bridge.

Maria Gern

One of the most humble and beautiful churches in Germany is the pilgrimage church of Maria Gern. It is located on top of a small hill near the stunning Kneifelspitze mountain in Bavaria.

 The interior is adorned with intricate decorative changes and an iron railing, making it truly impressive to behold. If you plan to spend more time during the day in Maria Gern, you can also hike up the mountain from a trail starting near the church.

Obersee

Obersee Lake is located within the Berchtesgaden National Park, with its tranquil and reflective waters that resemble a mirror, allowing you to see the rocks at the bottom.

 Getting to Obersee Lake is a bit more challenging as you can only reach it on foot. The easiest way is to cross Königssee Lake by boat and then hike along a well-maintained trail for about one and a half miles. 

From there, you will continue on a more challenging and rugged path until you reach Fischunkelalm, a mountain hut where you can stop for rest and refreshments. Afterward, you will continue hiking until you reach the lake.

Geraldsee

Geraldsee is a beautiful valley in southern Germany. The serene valley is scattered with small cabins on the hillsides, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

The Geierlay suspension bridge is located in the beautiful Hunsrück Mountains. This 360-meter-long bridge was completed in 2015 and took only 130 days to build. 

Visitors can explore the bridge for free, as it is open 24/7. If you're afraid of heights, you can also enjoy food and ice cream at the Morsdorf restaurant.

Bastei

Bastei is a collection of towering sandstone pinnacles rising above the lush green mountain landscape. Nestled within and along these breathtaking rock formations is a large stone bridge. 

From a distance, it seems as though this bridge leads to nowhere, magically suspended among the rock formations. It gives you the sensation of stepping into a fantastical castle in the sky, with sweeping views of the surrounding park stretching for miles below.
